Highbridge cottages are two properties in the same building in the village of Braithwaite, a walkers' paradise in the northern Lake District. The village stream runs past the front door, which is on the edge of the common, and pubs, shops and restaurants are all within 400 yards. We are also only 2 miles from Keswick, the capital of the northern Lakes.
Both cottages have a 4-star VisitBritain rating, and the top Gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme; we try and live in an environmentally sustainable way, and we positively encourage our guests to do the same.
High Bridge is the larger cottage, sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms; Highbridge Cottage sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms, or 5 with a Z-bed. Both have very comfortable beds and settees, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom (High Bridge has an extra shower room), and solar panels to help with the gas-fired hot water heating. You can also sit outside in the yard, which faces east and south and is secure for dogs.

Ideal for walkers, outdoor enthusiasts and your pet dogs, get away from it all at Cockley Beck which is in the heart of the Lake District National Park, the self-contained cottage is to the side of the farm house and is newly refurbished providing accommodation for up to 4 people with all the essentials.
A large open-plan kitchen-lounge-diner with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, washer-dryer, storage, dining table and chairs, settee, armchairs, colour TV with freeview, DVD and new electric heating. There are stunning views and a private enclosed orchard garden with patio area, BBQ, table and chairs; great for watching wildlife and spring lambs in the fields. A ground floor double bedroom with ample storage and electric heating is adjacent to the bathroom complete with bath and overhead shower. A spacious twin bedroom with storage and electric heating is on the upper floor accessed by an external stairway. All bedding and towels are provided. There is ample private parking and storage for bikes / outdoor gear. Upon request a broadband ethernet internet connection can be made available in the cottage (ask for details). If you use online shopping, the area is covered by Tesco grocery delivery, so you can get all your food delivered to the door ready for your arrival.
Well behaved dogs are welcome free of charge.

Holly Lodge is a comfortable spacious cottage for two people and up to two dogs. There is a large garden of about an acre full of trees, many birds, including greater spotted woodpeckers, nut hatches and tree creepers. Red squirrels also visit the garden to feed.
